Co-pilot electrical panel
Left-hand instrument panel
New silk-screened pilot and co-pilot panels with new lights, knobs and switches
Wiring pilot and co-pilot switch panels
Main gear up lock hook assemblies
The pilot's Cannon plug pedestal is on the left and
the right-hand cockpit is on the right
Pedestal plugs before and after
Pilot and co-pilot Cannon plug pedestals
The new placards, trim wheels and canopy crank handles
from our volunteer, Ken Friend
One of two main gear door hydraulic cylinders now installed
Left-hand landing gear retract/extension mechanism
Left-hand pulley tower, rudder balance cable and landing gear
retract/extension forging and bellcrank installed
Landing gear and flap hydraulic lines and rudder balance cables
that transition from left to right wheel wells
Main hydraulic control panel and left-hand landing gear mechanism
Main tire temporarily in place to confirm no hydraulic line interference
New elevator and rudder cables
Right-hand retract cylinder and over center spring lock-down
Right-hand wheel well with all of the landing gear mechanism installed; the four upper lines are right-hand to left-hand cockpit engine instrument lines prior to attaching
Left-hand gear door up-lock and the hydraulic lines prior to aligning and attaching. The lower lines are the fuel, oil and manifold pressure lines from the right-hand engine.
Left-hand wheel well, retract cylinder and some of the hydraulics
Wiring bundles on the co-pilot side. These wires transfer from the
pilot's side to the co=pilot's side all of the electrical controls, i.e.:
starters, primers, generators, instrument data, lighting, gear position, fuel pumps, shut-offs, supercharters, magnetos, gauges, inverters, etc.
Right-hand wheel well with the elevator and aileron cross-ship control tubes
and the 1" fuel cross-feel line installed.
Right-hand (above) and left-hand (below) fuel cross-feed lines and cross-ship control tubes mounted to their idler brackets; landing gear and flap hydraulic lines installed.
The gear door retract cylinder, misc. instrument lines and fuel cross-feed lines
are all attached with Adel clamps
Left-hand gear wheel well
Right-hand gear wheel well
Cross-ship control rods which link the aileron and elevator from pilot to co-pilot
Hydraulic dump valve is now installed
We spent a day cutting and drilling all of the permanent phenolic hydraulic anti-vibration tubing blocks to replace the temporary Adel clamps where applicable.
We have installed the two N.O.S. C-4 fuel strainers
Terminal strips in each wheel well with the boost pump resistors
below and in the background (below).
